Care Guide – Softshell Jacket with Waterproof & Breathable Technology
Your jacket is built to protect you from the elements while remaining comfortable and durable. To maintain its performance and extend its lifespan, follow these care instructions:
1. Washing
Frequency: Wash only when necessary, as frequent washing may reduce water-repellent performance.
Machine wash:
Use cold or lukewarm water (30°C / 86°F max).
Choose a gentle cycle.
Use mild, liquid detergent. Avoid fabric softeners, bleach, or strong chemicals.
Zippers & Velcro: Close all zippers, flaps, and Velcro tabs before washing.
Do not dry clean.
2. Drying
Air dry: Best option. Hang the jacket on a hanger in a well-ventilated space.
Tumble dry (low heat): Short cycles can help reactivate the water-repellent finish (DWR). Avoid high heat.
Do not wring or twist the fabric.
3. Reproofing / Restoring Water Repellency
Over time, the water-repellent treatment (DWR) may wear off.
If water no longer beads on the surface, apply a DWR spray or wash-in product after cleaning.
Light tumble drying (low heat) can help reactivate existing treatment.
4. Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
Do not compress the jacket for long periods; hang it to maintain its shape and performance.
5. Additional Tips
Brush off dirt and mud regularly without washing.
Avoid contact with sharp objects or rough surfaces that may damage the membrane.
Follow the care label inside the garment for brand-specific instructions.
